"Have Space Suit Will Travel"

Maybe my favorite childhood science fiction novel is Robert Heinlein's
"Have Space Suit Will Travel".

My wanderlust has been strong all of my life. This story opened me to the possibility of getting off of the planet.

As a grade school kid I created my version of the spaceship in the story drawn with crayons.

One day, many years later, Kathy and I walked into a shop in Tucson, Arizona to find that my crayon created spaceship was there waiting for me.

The potter created a matched pair of spaceships that are salt and pepper shakers.

Someone else had purchased only one of the pair.

Odd thing is that I really only wanted one as well.
