Field Trip

The precession went something like this...

Shoes off, lotus flower and incense in hand (bought at the tables behind us), incense lit at the covered propane fires off to the side. Kneel and wai (while holding the flower between hands, palms flat together.) After some requests for success on exams and a good future are spoken quietly or thought to one's self, the flower is placed on a platter and the incense is stood up in a pot of sand at the foot of the statue. From there, the participants take coins, usually one baht each, and place them in small pots passing in front of the statue on a conveyor belt. Shoes go back on and the students continue with their field trip.
