Joy
Today I went trout fishing with the best man in the world. Pictured is said man with our plunder.
Done properly, there is one blow, one final shiver and a brief quiet sadness.
Before it is the appreciation of how a fish moves, how it hunts and how it thinks. All of those are learned (and taught) and followed with a passion.
We caught those fish, we killed them and we'll eat them (the heads, tails and bones have already made a fish stock). We'll enjoy them in the ways we choose to.
It's well earned.
And it was a great day.
