The River (Musée du Quai Branly)
"The River" (2010) is an installation by Charles Sandison that runs the length of the ramp in the Musée du Quai Branly. It projects the over 16,000 names of the peoples and geographic locations that make up the museum's collection.
We saw an exhibit on the art and culture of the Maori and another, disturbing but very good, called "The invention of the savage" about the exhibition of non-European peoples in Europe and the US from the 19th century until the 1930s.
Ch has more energy today and I'm sure she'll be fine to go on her trip next week. Phew!
