Chinese New Year - The Year of the Dragon

To mark the Year of the Dragon, I ventured into a cold, wet and blustery Sheffield this lunchtime, to watch the Chinese New Year Parade outside the Town Hall.

Hosted by the Sheffield Chinese Association and Sheffield Chinese School and opened by the Lord Mayor, the kids (and adults alike) put on a colourful display which managed to stop many of the shoppers on Fargate in their tracks.

I took a good few shots, but this one really captured the essence of China for me ... the years of Chinese wisdom written all over his characterful face!
