Team Spirit

Today we definitely showed our battling qualities and our togetherness as a team. We travelled to West and Middle Chinnock (in the middle of nowhere) for second round Daisy Hutchings Cup tie.

The wind was blowing an absolute hoolie and the pitch was in a shocking state with a really bobbly surface. Surfice to say it didn't allow us to play our usual passing game with as much accuracy or fluency as what we like to.

We dominated the entire game, creating a vast amount of chances, but it was 0-0 at the break. Then within 5 seconds of the restart we were 1-0 down, which turned to 2-0 within 5 minutes. Not ideal. But we faught back to 2-2 and continued to boss the proceedings. We had a clear penalty shout turned down, but just never got the break we deserved, so that was the way it stayed after 90 minutes and then 120 minutes.

We then faced a penalty shoot out and managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. It's the worst possible way to lose a game, but we'll move on, take the positives from the game, and continue to grow as a team.

It's not been the best start to 2012 for us, but I have total belief in my side, and have no doubt that we'll prove how good we are in the coming months and fill that trophy cabinet with silverware before long.
