'Dabbling free'
although this isn't a duck as in Beatrix Potter's book but a swan. I went up to Purton to walk along the Severn to see the ship's graveyard. In the early 60's it was decided to abandon some old ships/barges against the Severn bank where it was eroding very heavily. As they silted up other vessels were driven in top on top of them. Many of them are named on plaques and the wooden ones were built in the 1800's and the barges in the 1900's. Too many pics to choose from of course so if you wish to see some they are in my blipfolio along with two more of the swan. There were no wading birds to be seen - obviously all feeding up at Slimbridge! The Sharpness canal was very clear and I could see the swan nibbling away at greenery but the refraction of the water/light stopped me from taking a decent picture
