The Cascades

Sounds a bit better than 'the overflow', which is what it is from Yarrow Reservoir into Anglezarke Reservoir. This series of reservoirs formerly supplied the drinking water for the city ofliverpool, but now mainly serves the town of Wigan. Yesterday's high winds hadn't subsided today and so a short run out locally through the woods made the best of the available shelter. A brief walk from the car around the reservoirs this afternoon confirmed that the bitter north westerly wind was still with us and so a fairly quick retreat to the pub was made. Why are weekends so short :(
