why so serious?

christopher nolan and christian bale have done it again - sure, there are plenty of other great actors and great behind-the-scenes types without whom etc etc, but the fact remains that this director and this actor have got something special going. i'm already planning to go and see 'dark knight' again asap, there was just so much i didn't quite take into my brain because the rest of my senses were being utterly pummelled.

heath ledger is great, the support are great, the stunts are cool, the car chases fun, several laugh out loud moments and one joker scene which is all the more chilling for being soundtracked with silence... we're all good here.

and this pic? this is a shot of my cool free poster for being at a preview (see a different version here). it moves between batman, joker and harvey dent holding up a metal bat, playing card and campaign badge respectively. maybe they thought it just looked cool, but it's a nifty way of reinforcing how tangled these three are in 'DK'. starting the campaign for CN and CB to do part3 right now...
