Back to School

At the Oast Quilters' meeting on Saturday I left my set of steps behind so first thing this morning I set off to retrieve them. It was strange to be part of the morning rush and to be in a school as it prepared itself for another busy week. The receptionist was very capable, dealing with lost property enquiries and the like including mine and tracked down the relevant caretaker who brought me my steps. The school is the one my son went to, Simon Langton School for Boys, and is a science specialist. Kent is one of the English counties which has retained its grammar schools.
