NOT the bow of the Dhow

Dhow is an Arabic name for a traditional sailing vessel; some historians believe that dhows was invented by the Arabs. Dhows typically weigh 300 - 500 tons, and have a long thin hull design.

A fleet of these fishing dhows departed from the Financial Harbour at 2:30pm and we were a group of Bahraini Blippers to witness and capture the experience. About 130 of them were lined up to venture the open sea where they will remain to collect the catch of the day for local fish markets. They return the next day around 2 - 4 am.

Took so many photos, but decided on a close-up of the stern. These wooden traditional boats are calling my name to tell how their story has begun in Bahrain!
