The Glen House, Traquair, Scottish Borders
We started our walk today close to this house which is about 30 miles from Edinburgh and our route was within the boundaries of the Glen Estate. It was a grand day and I enjoyed stretching my legs and getting my cobwebs blown away in the wind. The Glen House was built in the mid-nineteenth century in the Scottish Baronial style and apparently the estate can be traced as far back as 1296 when Sarra of the Glen swore allegiance to King Edward I of England. It is a grade A listed building (of historical/architectural interest) and there's more about it on this website.
I like the way this grand house is dwarfed by a neighbouring tree.
