One thing I am liking about being camped out in the Hutt Valley for a year is the plum tree in the backyard. This is the first batch of preserves - whole stewed plums - there is at least as much on the tree again, even considering losses to birds and irish setters, although the setters mostly eat the wind fall, and you get a lot of that here...
