Robin in the rain
Today has been an absolutely dreary wet and cold day. It never got above 5 degrees which I don't mind if it's dry and bright but it's miserable when wet. We do desperately need the rain though. There was so little during the Autumn here.
Did a few errands in town first thing then came home aiming to do some chores. First one was to replenish the bird feeders as, at last, I'm beginning to see birds returning to the bramble patch and trees over the fence at the bottom of the garden.
Then went indoors and immediately this Robin was hopping around on the new apple and fat treats I'd put out. No chance of photos through the window so had to brave the cold and open it. Even got the tripod out on the draining board - in between washing up!
Definitely much more activity out there than there has been in a couple of months. House Sparrows, Blue Tits and Blackbirds all put in an appearance within half an hour, plus 2 amorous Wood Pigeons!
But the star of the show was the Robin, brightening up a very dreary day. Apologies for the quality of the image. I have tweaked it a bit to make it a bit better. The light was dismal and I don't have a camera with a large lens. But I hope it cheers your day up as it did mine. Just about thawed out now!
