I finally got round to spending half an hour not only adjusting the lengths of the mudguard stays but also bending them properly and crimping some of the mounting-bits to try and keep them out of the way of the tyres, which Tuesday morning's run in proved to have been effective. Next is changing the handlebar, though addressing the lower limit screw suicide-chain option might butt in first.
