Sand Dredging
I went down to St Kilda and had a very nice lunch at a favourite restaurant. They were sand dredging at the beach. The mouth of the Marina was silting up, so they had a dredger removing the sand from there and dumping it on the beach. A nearby sign said that this was a good thing and that within a couple of days the black sand would become a "normal" sand colour. I'm sure they're telling the truth. I do know that the gulls (Silver Gulls and Pacific Gulls) were having a great time!
