No, it isn't icy today. But we pass this sign in all seasons. It is the council's way of saying, "We don't grit this road in winter, so be careful"!

It is by the side of the road where a mound rises up that is said to be the burial place for the dead from the Battle of Stamford Bridge.

My friend who is in hospital phoned up to say, "I'm on the Ambulance". He was being ferried to a bigger hospital to have his heart probed and poked to see what his problem is. He thought that this was special as the usual report is, "I'm on the train". Get it?
