Old art work...
Today I have been trying to sort my room out. Whist doing so I came across a load of old art work so I thought I would share with you a piece I did in year 11 at school.
Its a big scary to look at I must admit. It was created using oil pastles and the imagery is depicted from photographs of me and my sister pulling scary faces in the dark using a torch. The idea for this piece was derived from studying the use of chiaroscuro in paintings.
For those of you who are not familiar with the term chiaroscuro the definition is:
"an Italian term which literally means 'light-dark'. In paintings the description refers to clear tonal contrasts which are often used to suggest the volume and modelling of the subjects depicted".
