Argos 30 Day Guarantee ... huh!!!
The camera that we purchased a few weeks ago developed a black spot on the screen, which in turn then reproduced itself on the images that were taken. Now, it is only 3 weeks .. ish old ... so Mrs Lif said I should take it back to Argos while I was in town this morning. Being a good husband, I took it into Argos to take advantage of their 30 day replacement guarantee. The girl behind the counter had to ask the manager. She came back and said I could not change, that it had to go to get repaired.
I decided to point out the sign on the wall that said "30 day replacement guarantee" ... she went away again and came back to declare "We cannot replace it as you purchased it last year"
"Quite right" I retorted. "29th of December ... today is the 25th January ... not 30 days in my book"
Away she popped again. This time the manager came back and said "we have to inspect it to ensure it is not damaged" I said "it is in perfect condition, only has a black spot on the screen ... which is to do with the internal part of the camera"
Manager said there was a scratch on the screen and asked why I did not use protection (I said it was none of her business :-)) I told her that the camera does not come with screen protection. She said that she would not expect the camera to have a scratch on after 3 weeks. I said "I would not expect a camera to to go BANG in 3 weeks ...
At this point, the Argos 30 day replacement guarantee was honoured.
