Amazonian Sunset

I picked up this painting in Iquitos, or alternatively "The Gateway to the Peruvian Amazon" as it is also apparently known. The base, believe it or not, is actually the bark from a special kind of tree found in the Amazon jungle, and I fell in love with the rustic texture it gave the painting. I've had it rolled up in a drawer since I came home from Peru in July 2010, and decided it's finally time to get the thing safely framed, even though we can't hang it in our current flat due to our grumpy landlords. The bark is super fragile and already torn in places so I'm a tiny bit apprehensive about dropping it off at the framers tomorrow. Hope it'll be ok!
