Quandary!
I was in a real bind today.
I had too many photos I wanted to use!
This being the 300th, I wanted something with 300 in it however, we went to an AFL day today...
This was a free event put on the Greater Western Sydney Giants. They had 20 of the top players from most teams there (Adam Goodes and Keiren Jack from the mighty Swans), and Dale Thomas from Collingwood (Jeanine was very happy).
The players played a friendly exhibition match and held a clinic for the wide eyed kids. It was a sensational day with a BBQ lunch, ice-creams, coffee (real!), drinks and fruit provided free!
We bought Jack (with a lot of arm twisting), a GWSG jersey which now bears a number of autographs. He doesn't want to wash it, yet he doesn't want to take it off.
I had a tough time choosing a blip: Jeanine with one of her heroes, Jack in his GWSG gear and an Australian flag painted on his cheek (it is Australia Day after all), or a great shot of a couple of players contesting the ruck.
I chose this one because it embodies the friendly nature of the day. The players could not do enough for the kids and it was greatly appreciated by the entire crowd.
Now a little word about my blipping experience to date. I think I can count on one hand the photos I'm really proud of, and an abacus to count the not so good... Still, I think I'm getting a little better with each shot. I've appreciated all of your comments over my time and have met (on and off-line), some fellow blippers that I'm proud to call friends.
My goal is to get an entry on the spotlight page before I get to one thousand. That may be quite a task considering the quality of photographers on this site, and the amazingly high quality photos produced day in - day out.
I hope you all have a great Australia Day, wherever in the world you may be. Throw some lamb on the barbie and have a couple of cold ones on me!
