Summer grass - part two.
I seem to be spending my time in the long grass. This time on the far side of the island.
Had the day to myself today. Caught up on some work this morning (fitted in a wee blip catch up as well). The packed myself a piece of two slices of just baked bread, two cold hard boiled eggs and a banana and set off on a cycle.
It's not far to the other side our island, only about 6.5 miles round trip. But it is a circular route and over a fair variety of terrain, not too long a stretch of main road, mainly single track and a over a couple of rough field tracks. So it's enough to feel you've gone somewhere and makes stopping for lunch in a sunny spot worth while.
The only annoying thing today was just at the moment when I had packed my camera away a Short Eared Owl flew right over me, so close I could see the surprise in it's eyes as it spotted me sitting in the exact spot it was heading for. Typical!!
