Betsy having a Picnik

Betsy was off sick today. Not that she looks it.

I took her photo at lunchtime and she has been playing around with it in Picnik - a recent discovery.

She was outraged when she came home from school yesterday - a long running complaint about school dinners. So many children were annoyed about it that they ended up going to see the head. Apparently (I heard from the school secretary) that he looked like he'd done ten rounds with Mike Tyson when he came out. Later I noticed that Betsy's eyes were glittering, and her cheeks were pink. I took her temperature and realised she wasn't well. Perhaps that's why the offer of half a baked potato and no cake had seemed so outrageous.

Her temperature was 37.9 in one ear and 39.2 in the other.

So she stayed off today. She watched the entire series of Chocky in the morning, then The Half Blood Prince in the afternoon.

Chris's Dad came out of hospital this evening. Great news though he's going to take a while to recouperate.

Did lots of work while Betsy was vegging out. This evening read to the children (The History Keepers and Prisoner of Azkaban) for about two hours while Chris was at the hospital.

Natasha came to do my hair today. Made Betsy have hers done too. And Chris.
