Hawk's Crag, Buller Gorge, NZ
Great night in Hanmer, hubby even let me and the friend slip out for some real down time at the pools last night, was bliss!
Bucketed down last night and I can feel snow in the air again so there must of been a dump somewhere. Luckily the sun is out in full bloom so it won't last long!
There are some many classic NZ shots to be had in our Buller Gorge, I have always meant to take pictures throughout it but have never gotten around to it....I always tend to just kind of zone out when we're travelling through the gorge...it's that one place we reach on our journey and know that we are finally there, we're almost home.
Blipfoto is of the Hawk's Crag and the Buller River...which is dirty due to the recent downfall. The Hawk's Crag is part of the Buller Gorge road which has been cut through bedrock...the entire gorge road follows the path of the Buller River, the fastest flowing river in the South Island of New Zealand. :) Not sure if you can see, it's a pretty bad photo, but there is a pole off to the right in the crag...that just looks like a white stick from photo vantage point...this pole shows passing motorists. If they bother to look, they get to see the highest known flood level of the river. It's marked about a third of the way up the pole, past the road railing on the crag, it's pretty creepy.
