What's This?

I'm driving down the freeway, I look down and what's this, a never before seen warning light on my dashboard. No idea what it means. Last thing I need, ever!

I keep driving and try to ignore it.

Then the debate starts: Pull over. It can it wait. Pull over. The engine is going to start smoking. Keep going. Pull over. Stop and check. Keep going. Pull over. You can make it home. Pull over...

My dad is in my head, "if I light goes on, pull over immediately", but I don't want to. It's dark, or it's raining, or I'm tired or I just don't want to deal with it....

I drive all the way home and then get the book out.

This particular light is the airbag warning light. Something potentially wrong with the passenger or side airbag systems. I looked it up sitting in my garage. Turned the engine off, back on and the light went away.

New debate, take it in right away and get it checked or hope it went away for good. I'm going for the latter. Darn it though, my dad is still in my head, "if a light goes on..."
