Explosion......of Colour

The wind howled round the house and the rain lashed at the windows. It was so loud as I drifted in and out of sleep, quietly dreaming of a blip I had in mind, telling myself now was not the right time to go take my shot, the light is not right and it would be pitch black in the darkness of the stormy night. Go back to sleep I told myself but my mind persisted on calling up this particular shot until I got out of bed and roamed our dark house, it was now 2am!

I went back to bed my mind more settled until I felt a dig in my back. I nudged it away and pulled the covers up round my neck, that dig persisted and then a little giggle - Daughter E was trying to wake me to take her to work, the wind was still howling and the rain still lashing, it was now 3.30am!

But this morning when I evenutally rose, the sun was bright and the wind had stopped howling, the garden had a freshness but some flowers were sadly lying on the grass. With a cuppa in hand I took a quiet stroll feeling a little disappointed at my garden this year. I haven't given it the attention it deserves and our weather has taken a toll. Many blooms have been ruined by the wind, rain and southerly blasts and there are many blooms I have missed photographing as I have simply just missed them or they haven't bloomed for as long. I walked down our cobbled path under the evergreen trees of camellia's and pittosporums underplanted with hosta's with their tiny flowers just coming to an end, I turned a corner and there was an explosion of colour!! My beautiful hydrangea which was blue last year has decided to be pink/blue this year was in the sunlight and glowing with colour.

Thanks to everyone for stopping by for a linger, leaving a few words and saying hello during my time of early starts in the mornings which in turn mean early nights. I will return and I'll comment when I can - I will bring to you the shot I was dreaming about when the time is right, which is not on a stormy night.

Have a great weekend :)
