The Wake

We said goodbye to our nephew, Steven Lars this morning. The service was quite moving and well attended by his many friends. I felt so sad for his mother, brother and sister as well as the mother of his children who will now have to grow up without seeing their father.

We all adjourned to Lara Jeans place to give Steven Lars a proper send off. I was driving so I had to sit and watch everyone around me partying on. There will be some sore heads tomorrow!

Pictured is Steven Lars brother, Garvin (in uniform) and Lara Jean after they let some helium filled balloons go with messages on them. These two kids (yes, that is how I see them) have had a very difficult 10 days, not only dealing with grief but also organising the whole funeral even. Jo and I are very proud of them both.

Hopefully they can now cherish their memories but move on.
