Skyrail Tour

Today we visited Australia's World Heritage listed Tropical rainforest on Skyrail rainforest Cableway. Skyrail is a 7.5kms cableway gliding just metres above the rainforest canopy in the Barron gorge National Park. Amazing views ! In the middle of the rainforest is Kuranda village - the traditional home of the Djabugay people. There were lots to see here - heritage mkts. butterfly sanctuary, local craft centres , and lots of opals - no we did not succumb ! .It was very hot and humid and we just kept looking for shady places.Fell in love with this little fella !
We travelled back down on the historic railway - slowly winding our way down the mountain stopping at the Barron and Stoney creek falls and passing through 15 hand-hewn tunnels - the journey took 90 mins. Quite an unforgettable experience !
