GIANT BRADLEY

WILLIAM BRADLEY (1787-1820)
William Bradley was born on 10th February 1787, in the East Yorkshire town of Market Weighton. He was one of thirteen children, and remains in the record books as Britain's Tallest Ever Man.

William worked as a butchers assistant, then became a showman. He travelled all over the country, exhibiting himself to huge crowds, including King George IV. William was 7'9" (2.4m) tall.

This wooden statue can be found in the market place and forms the start of a heritage trail.
