The disgraceful vandalism of Freddie

The news of the vandalism of a popular sculpture angered and revolted Scarborough this morning.

He's only been in the town for 3 months, but Freddie Gilroy has become a much loved addition to the seafront, quite rightly.

Dark motives may lie behind the cowardly vandalism of the sculpture of the Belsen survivor, but even if it is merely mindless stupidity, it shows disgraceful lack of respect for a piece of public art.

Scarborough Council workers quickly but patiently worked hard to clean Freddie, so by the end of the day he was fully restored. Well done for their skilful work.
