Hidden Bantam Eggs
Only found these very old Bantam eggs in my raised flowerbed when I cleared up the dead bedding plants. Our little black bantam has a habit of escaping the coop and making secret nests, she has no partner so they are all infertile. We call her 'The Phantom Bantam" as she just pops up as if from nowhere and follows you round the garden. We did find one of her hidden nests and substituted a couple of fertile chicken eggs . She successfully hatched out and raised one, even though it was twice her size and golden she was fiercely protective and a perfect mum.
