Sunrise!

I set off for work at 830am. This was the first morning this year that sunrise has been early enough for the sun to light my crocuses ... if I lift the pot up into the greenhouse. Not enough warmth to open the flowers but in this case you get to see the striking markings on Crocus sieberi Hubert Edelsten. A selected seedling raised almost a century ago, this one can be purchased from some Garden Centres although it is not as cheap as the more common forms. Inside the petals are pure white ... honest!
