Rotary Festival Of Youth Music

Another late blip as we're just back from singing a couple of Burns songs with the choir at the Leith YMCA Burns Supper. We didn't partake of the main event this time, just turned up in time for the entertainment - they were running a bit late so we had a while to warm up. The rest of the entertainment was good fun too.

My blip is of the twelve competitors, with two judges and two Rotary members, in a 2012 Rotary Young Musician Competition which was held at the Heriot Watt Students Union as part of the lunchtime concert programme. This forms part of the Rotary District competition so two of these will go forward to compete in a District Zone final at the end of February.

There were five wind instrumentalists, (there's a flute and trumpet missing from then photo), the other seven competitors were vocalists and all were very talented performers and offered a wide repertoire.
