and heading back to Hong Kong

On the plane heading back to Hong Kong. Saw a strange thing on the wing of the plane. It has a sign saying No Step. Other than the poor English, I was wondering what is the point of having the sign there? Nobody is able to get on to the wings of the plane. Is it really necessary to warn people not to step on it? Or maybe the sign is there for birds who can read. :-)
