The snow finally settles in Baku.

It's been threatening to do so for the past week, and today we woke up to a blanket of snow. I ventured out for a walk/slide around our neighbourhood - an area of as-yet untouched Soviet buildings know as 'stalinkas'. I noticed that the cosmetic builders are getting ever closer though - just a couple of blocks away, a boxey Soviet building was having a face lift with colourful paint and decorative bits added around the windows.

I'd love to see the centre of the city or the Caspian seafront Bulvar in the snow, but that's a bit too far to slide from home (and cars/taxi are not advisable in the snow here).
