I haven't attempted a bird photo for a while so, armed with my 70-300mm lens I went for a wander. I only saw a great tit, blue tit & this robin and I wasn't particularly pleased with any of the images I took. Then I walked past two other photographers & the lady said they'd seen a kingfisher down by the brook. They'd not managed to photograph it, but there was definitely one there.

I wandered by the waters edge for a while & sat on the bench waiting patiently for half an hour, but didn't see any flashed of blue. But now I know that there is a chance of a kingfisher shot, I'll be loitering by the water a bit more often in future.
