Hello again . . . .

During the building work we have had our books stored in next door's shed. Today I brought them home again!

They have been fine in there for the last nine months or so, but earlier this month it was reported in the local paper that it had rained on each of the last 54 days, and they were beginning to get a bit damp. Now that our guest has gone, and the futon has been folded up again, I have filled the little room with books. The boxes that they were in were quite soggy, but the books themselves weren't too bad. A clue to the dampness was the number of snails in amongst them! Now they have the room heater on and some warm air around them they will be fine, but it does mean I will have to spend many (happy!) hours sitting on the floor airing them and checking them over. Oh well, if I must!
