Everywhere I look in this house, there seems to be a timepiece reminding me that time is passing by. Passing so much quicker than I would like it to. Hopefully our three score and ten on this planet has been extended to maybe four score or more, but you never can tell.
Even the seconds seem to be more important now.
Perhaps I should just put all these watches and clocks in a drawer somewhere. But then there is still that little clock ticking past at the corner of my screen and my phone's screen is showing yet another reminder.
Perhaps it's what we're all destined for now - the age of the internet is the age of the passing second. What was hot a second ago has just been superseded!
What must time have felt like for our ancestors? Did it appear to pass by more sedately just because they relied on the hourly chime of the church clock?
