Farewell Belem

We, with Helen, were on the Amazon for the first time today.     Appropriately enough for our final day, the weather held fine with clear blue skies and only a little rain.   It was great to see Belem from another perspective but, more than anything, to feel this great river beneath us and look out to the far bank.   Some views are, indeed, timeless.

We pack this very minute for Sao Paulo, our silver bird takes to the air at two in the morning.   It will be dark but maybe this shot will brighten the night, as it will our memories of this place.
