Iso-Syöte Freeride 2012

Today was the day for the annual Iso-Syöte Freeride contest and as I was part of the crew organizing the whole thing was not going to participate this time.

We're supposed to group at the bottom of the freeride area at the resort backcountry, so woke up early and after breakfast started my way to the correct place. Luckily our hut was quite high at the resort so had to only climb a bit and then do some traversing to reach the backcountry area.

However almost missed the mark for the grouping as just had to stop several times to enjoy the scenery and take some pictures. The light was really magical when the sun started to rise from the horizon at the clear -31C degree weather. Luckily most of the scandinavian skiers are not afraid of the winter ;)
