A grand day out

Ah! Cheltenham on Festival Trials Day.

A smooth journey with none of those lorries overtaking each other at 1inch/minute on the A42. A cracking Winter's day, sunny, with little breeze, and the sight of Ruby upon which to feast our eyes. Backed the winner of the first two, had a very palatable pasty and pint of Guinness al fresco, got plenty of fresh air and came home the princely sum of £7.50 richer, and with even less idea of what'll win the Triumph Hurdle.

The day's action:
Top: Midnight Chase (right, noseband) makes all and beats Tidal Bay (left) in the feature race of the day, the Argento Chase.
Bottom, left to right: Dougie Costello gently smiles and Midnight Chase gently steams as they ride back in after their victory; Ruby Walsh (Tidal Bay)'s face says it all about what might have been; Ruby is all smiles an hour later as he's interviewed by Channel 4 Racing's Lesley Graham after Big Buck's's (sic) 15th consecutive win.
Insets: the results board;drink of choice.

Editor's note: yes, I am totally obsessed with Ruby Walsh
