Bob at Clarence

Boy has a cough at the moment. This is playing havoc with his slightly improved sleep which means that he is back to his old tricks of being up most of the night. As he is not prepared to entertain me in dark time hours this means Wife is very tired.

I tried to help out a bit this morning, and after getting up early with Girl, we took boy and headed to the car boot at Fratton Park. As usual it was a bit poor but it was a free outing and Boy needed a buggy push to sleep.

Boy woke very unhappy and Girl was now getting cold so with a trail of moans drifting from us, like a cheap Honda Vision, we headed for home. Once home Boys moans increased and it was only really me pretending to be a gorilla and a bit of food that seemed to pull him out of it.

Sensing that they needed a charge about I put forward the motion to head to the park. Girl immediately vetoed this on temperature grounds. I tried to carry the motion a couple more times without success. Unsure of what to do I took it upon myself to become a bear and chase them round the house, which although a lot of fun was exhausting, so I was as thrilled as the little ones when Wife suggested we go to Pirate Petes.

Pirate Petes is a soft play area that has been around here since before soft play was even invented. We usually avoid such places as they are so full, hot, noisy with an air of fast food. However fun is the key particularly when its cold, so we set them free at Petes.

What struck us the most was just how independent Boy suddenly became and with a shot he was off and hard to keep up with, wanting to get on to everything without hesitation. At the same age his sister was much more wary, as he usually is. Early on Boy made a friend with a big boy who along with Girl kept a good eye on him to make sure he was ok whilst Wife and I also tried to keep pace to hand hold.

As we headed for home Boy and I had just enough time to have a ride in scoop with Bob and waste lots of money trying to win Daddy Pig whilst Wife and Girl played to tuppencee shover to win an elephant, Girl's newfavouritee thing.
