Putting your best foot forward
We had a lovely quiet morning then, after first visiting the Pet shop to buy something for Bruce and Cara, we drove to Henley for lunch at Pizza Express. I was delighted that they now do lighter weight Pizza bases and even ones with a hole in the centre which is then filled with fresh salad leaves. It was delicious and I didn't feel as if I had eaten a whole lot of dough! We then daundered through the Sunday market where there were several stalls laden with delicious home baking and also a lady, well muffled up against the cold, busy spinning a very soft wool and linen mixture on a large spinning wheel. We then ended up beside the river because we had taken some bread to feed the ducks. Grandson No 1 had a great time throwing some of the bread up in the air so that the gulls could catch it on the wing. I took a number of photos today; of the lady spinning, some old Tudor buildings and naturally ducks and boats. I eventually decided on this one as it looked positive and assertive.
We didn't hover very long as it was chilly and my grandson was looking tired so we returned home and had time for a rest and a cuppa before my son-in-law and the two younger boys arrived back from their party.
