The best gig I've ever been to...
1. I've been to some good gigs in my time. Lots of them, lots and lots of them. Large and very small. U2 at Celtic park, The Second Hand Marching Band downstairs in the captains rest and Jonnie Common out the back at Southside Studios to name a random three. I saw a really good just last Sunday.
2. I've been to some outstanding gigs too. The first time I saw James at the Barras. The second time I saw James and that time King Creosote sang She's My Favourite Girl and dedicated it to me at the Tolbooth in Stirling.
3. There's been some pretty mental ones too. James Brown and what seemed to be a backing band of Muppets, Dolly Parton bringing the house down to an arena of hen nights and Barbara Dickson in Stoke Town Hall.
4. It's not often I've claimed to have been at the best gig ever. Until tonight. I've just been to the best gig ever. Best for music, for atmosphere, for crowd, for tearing up a boring venue, for security breaches and best for out and out joy.
5. Emir Kusturica & No Smoking Orchestra. Five out of five from Five Things.
