Sybil

Our next door neighbour Sybil, has live in her house for 78 years since she was two. Today we got talking about wool and she told me about the local shetland wool shop that used to be on Prince Regent Street. They used to take in baby shawls and wash, bleach and stretch them for you. They bleached them by burning sulphur in a shed in the back green. Sybil said they were so white when they came back, they were like new with lovely pointy edges restored, but still smelt of sulphur.
Sadly the shop is now a drop in drug abuse clinic.
