Mysterious

This is carved into the stone above an anonymous black door on a quiet side street in Edinburgh.

Obviously masonic and will mean something to the masons amongst us (if there are any masonic blippers?). Regardless of the fact I don't know what it means I think it looks very cool and a bit sinister.
