Boston Blip party

Taken from the top of St Botolphs or the Boston Stump. Myself, G Gazimp and G's brother thehutch all climbed the slightly scary steps to the top of the tower today to take in the views of Boston and the surrounding area.
My boy G hates heights, I'm very proud he came up with us :)

I've been wanting to do this for a while, my dad comes from Boston and as a child he used to come up the stump with his dad. During the war someone would be posted up the stump on fire watch, from what my dad tells me they were posted even higher up the tower than the public area we were allowed today.
He remembers throwing paper planes from the top of the stump. He also remembers looking down on the planes (not paper ones) flying below them. I've never asked what they did if they spotted a fire.......its was a long way down to pass on the message.
