Quick, Quick, Slow
Farm roads and the A1, looking west to Traprain Law from Eweford, Dunbar. I rushed about a lot, but found myself with some time at the end of the day to enjoy the view.
Big and Slow.
To the right is the main A1 Edinburgh to London road which was upgraded to dual carriageway from Edinburgh to Dunbar since I moved here 15 years ago. Before that it was deadly, a single lane racetrack, and south of Dunbar it's still like that for many miles.
To the left are the farm roads from Eweford to Broomhouse. The red lights are heading into the underpass, a safe route under the A1 which has big red "Private Farm Road" signs at both ends - signs which everyone completely ignores. The white lights are headed along the track to Spott Road, another handy safe route we use a lot. It probably has signs too.
I took the early train this morning for the first time in a while - I had forgotten just how long the ticket queues would be on a Monday morning, but luckily I was served just in time. Then I was into the office early enough to choose a seat and get a to-do list organised before 9. Must do that more often. Probably.
But not tomorrow! The children are here for the week so it's the usual school walk followed by a dash to the station for the 0853. Much more civilised.
