Marry the Mole

Dear Heart,
Lectures began again today, and I was plagued with the same back-to-school nerves I had when I was fourteen. However, I shrugged on my plum coat and bravely stepped out into January's penultimate morning. What greeted me were little winking flakes of snow! It felt like some giant chef was dusting icing sugar over cake, and this cheered me up right away.
After my seminars, I joined Siân to work in the Lounge ("work" here meaning: to laugh, eat chicken and stuffing sandwiches and procrastinate endlessly) for a few hours. Dinner was a sweet and sour sauce, and afterwards we sat down with Sophie to watch a childhood favourite, Thumbelina. We didn't pay much attention this time around, though; we were too busy mocking the poor girl's inability to do anything independently - even floating was beyond her, and she did show rather too much thigh for someone born out of rose petals only 24 hours previously...
Love, Lydia x
