Sue and Ol' Blue Eye
Another dank and miserable looking day. Drove over to Helmsley again to meet with my friend Sue. She was a teaching colleague from long, long ago. We lost touch for ages but miraculously 'found' each other about 5 years ago. She has always kept horses and they have become her life's passion. We had a brief wander round the small town, far too cold for low energy activity. Had lunch in one of the many cafes before driving out to the stables to view the horses. This is one of her's and as soon as we entered the yard he greeted her noisily. She mucked him out and fed him while I admired all the other horses sticking their heads over the stable doors and looking for attention. That done she was going to ride and I was by this time pretty chilly. A drive back in continuing murky conditions arriving home mid-afternoon. Made a mug of cocoa and sat down to enjoy a bit of reading. Not something I do very often during the daytime. Not feeling very energetic so must make a supreme effort to do something worthwhile even if it is sitting down! Looking forward to watching Birdsong this evening, it was recorded on Sunday to be savoured when the time was right.
